Camping on Mosel Islands two months after the lockdown

A window of chance

We couldn’t wait for the chance to pack our camper van and leave the house immediately as soon as we heard the news that the restrictions have been lifted down. However, there were not so many camping sites to camp to choose from.

Luckily, Mosel Islands had opened its door for us.

Mosel Islands was an enormous space for campers which was also an ultimate place to camp during the pandemic since it provided us mighty space to roam around without disturbing or getting too close to the other campers.

Throngs of campers turned up despite the pandemic, which made me think that they were also like us who were too thrilled to be out of home again.

On the other hand, showers at the campsite( that time) were not open for public use due to the compliance of coronavirus implementation.

Only the toilets were available. WE didn’t have a problem with that at all. That’s why we decided to buy our own porta poti.

Porta Poti was very convenient to use, handy and didn’t stink. We just needed to need to buy the chemicals to complete the process. You can check the porta poti here. In addition, Mosel Islands had chemical toilet disposal prepared on the site.

Mosel islands had wonderful scenery, near the lake and perfect for water sports.

Mosel Islands is located at Am Laach D-56253 Treis-Karten. It’s almost 6 hours from Munich. For more information, please visit their official website.
